I had high hopes for 2020, it felt like everything was off to a good start. Then COVID19 entered from stage left and now everyone is wondering, “Do I still have a job?”.
As a recruiter, I receive messages and calls from people looking for work EVERYDAY. Lately, the emails, LinkedIn messages, and the calls are piling up. Recruiters work for clients, not for candidates. If we are busy finding people to meet our client’s needs then it becomes difficult to help anyone person find a job. I do want to help. I have shared these tools before but considering the current times, I thought it would be beneficial to reshare them.

When you are looking for work, here are a few things to consider:
What do you want to do next?
What have you done that you DO NOT want to do anymore?
Are you willing to relocate?
What is your target salary?
What companies should you target?
Who do you know that works at your target companies?
We are coming out of what was a candidate’s market, jobs were plentiful and talent was hard for companies to find. If the economy doesn’t improve rapidly and unemployment remains record high, it will be more important to get back to work quickly; you won’t have the luxury of choosing where to work.
If you are launching a career search, do it with discipline. Schedule daily time to work on finding work. It is important to be as organized as possible and these two job search tools will help.
